Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s that time of year where our glam squad at Secret Spa will be out in full force prepping our VIPs for their spooky parties and events. Our professional make-up and hair stylists will be creating those Instagram worthy hair and makeup looks for our top celeb clients, making you wish you’d booked to get yours done.
With Halloween looks getting stronger each year; competition to stand out is at its highest. The team at Secret Spa are here to ensure you look your best this Halloween, no matter what your beauty needs are. With previous year costume trends featuring Miley Cyrus and Harley Quinn, we can’t wait to see what looks are created this year.
With the big night lurking, we spoke to some of the leading beauty suppliers to find out what Halloween trends are on their radar this year and got them to give us some inspiration for our looks this time around.
We can’t wait to see what looks are created this year and as shown by the ‘In Your Dreams’ team, pretty much any look can be achieved with a touch of glitter, or in some cases, a glitter overload! In Your Dreams, started out on the UK festival scene as intricate body and face painters, who soon evolved into an embellishment and make-up service adding sequins, gold leaf, bindis, gems and glitter to adorn the face and body. Now also jeweling faces on the Ibiza island and glittering party goers roots, they are excited to see what looks will be created this Halloween. Two looks perfect for Halloween, that we love, are the clown and candy skull! In your Dreams created a white candy skull look in Ibiza this Summer and here is how you can recreate it.
We spoke to the ultimate glitter lover and blogger, Sophie Hannah Richardson, who has recently launched her own beauty range ‘Sophie Hannah Beauty’. We asked her to pick a couple of trends that she reckons we will be seeing a lot this year. Sophie said, ‘it seems that the Unicorn is going to be a popular Halloween costume for 2017. I think this is because of how popular glitter and face jewels have become! The skull candy look will also prove popular, as it’s a great way to combine both scary and face jewels! I also think we will continue to see Harley Quinn, which took off by storm last year and is still much loved.” Check out Sophie’s tutorial on how to create the skull candy look for this Halloween on her YouTube channel.
Gemma Wright, Founder of Hooked Up Shop, supplies various beauty products, however, one of their biggest sellers is also their range of glitter and face art. With the festival season hitting off the trend of glitter boobs and booty’s, people now want any excuse to overload their body with glitter and gems. Halloween will be no exception and we are already loving the look of glitter blood! With this in mind, Gemma thinks that due to 2017 being the year of the mermaid, it’s only natural that this will be a popular choice of look for Halloween goers to attempt. Face lace stickers are also on the rise and these are a great Halloween touch as still allow you to have flawless make-up, but with an added touch of glam. Finally, the killer clown craze taking over at the beginning of the year and the return of Steven King’s IT movie, Pennywise is back on the scene. Thanks to the Secret Spa team, you don’t need to worry about how to create these looks, elite hair and make-up artists can be booked via the app and will get you ready for your big night out.
Emily the founder of Secret Spa commented; “We work with some of the most respected make-up artists in the capital so if you are looking for a professional to aid your Halloween look then I would recommend booking in early. The Halloween make-up trend is getting stronger every year and our professionals are getting more and more creative. Expectations are getting higher and higher as is demand.”
Halloween is right around the corner, so book in with us today to ensure that you look incredible this Halloween! Last year we beautified, or should we say horrified, a lineup of celebs and we have pulled together some of our favourite looks our therapists created.
Ashley James – Killer Clown
Last year our therapists transformed one of our favourite beauties, Ashley James, into a killer clown for her event and she was in love with the results! Ashleys look consisted of tight bouncy curls and a bullet wound to the head.
Vogue Williams – The Devil
Vogue Williams was another charm we got to get our hands on last Halloween. Vogue kept it subtle by adding red devilish contacts and a statement red lip to her flawless face created by one of our Secret Spa makeup artists. Protruding devil horns were also added with a touch of blood to complete the look.
Olivia Cox – Harley Quinn
Probably the most popular Halloween trend for last year was the Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad look. Olivia Cox was keen to achieve the look with the help of our beauty team at Secret Spa. To ensure she looked the part, we made sure her makeup was immaculate and nailed this look. Our therapists added Harley Quinn’s signature heart on the cheek and styled her hair in big bunches to resemble the true supervillain everyone knows of.
